3D Grade Control for Excavators

3D Grade Control for Excavators

Install the GCS900 3D grade control system on excavators with standard or tilt buckets for your mass excavation projects. The GCS900 3D allows you to work in any environment as this flexible system can use either GNSS or total stations. When used with two GNSS receivers and solid state angle sensors, the GCS900 3D can measure the precise 3D position of the bucket’s teeth.

Extreme accuracy can be achieved when this grade control system in a total station-based system. The GCS900 3D can track GPS, GLONASS and Galileo signals. It can also be used for wet construction projects with a watertight seal around the angle sensor and the optional AS455 submersible enclosures. With accurate 3D position, you can quickly perform complex tasks and simplify finishing slopes with the GCS900 3D. Excavators with tilt buckets can be used for shaping V-ditches and operations where the excavator is digging a slope that is not perpendicular to the boom.

The GCS900 3D is ideal for mass excavation applications, including land reclamation, dam and reservoir construction, new infrastructure projects, and landfills and waste deposits.

Several configurations are available with the GCS900 3D, including Single GNSS, Dual GNSS and Universal Total Stations. Configured as a Single GNSS, you can measure the position and slope of the blade. Then compare that to the design data for rough grading and mass excavation on complex design systems. The GCS900 3D configured as a Dual GNSS system can measure the exact position, cross slope and heading of the blade for rough grading and mass excavation on steep slopes as well as complex design surfaces. A total station-based system provides you with extreme accuracy for lift and layer control, material monitoring as well as where GNSS is not ideal due to overhead obstructions.
