“The Rod-less Grade Checker”
A versatile, revolutionary tool, the Spectra Precision® DR400 DigiRod eliminates the need for grade rods when checking grades with a rotating laser. You can get accurate grade readings, even at tilt angles up to 30 degrees with the DR400, as it combines a laser receiver with digital readout, laser distance meter, and built-in tilt sensor. The DR400 can emulate various grade rods including direction elevation rods, cut/fill rods and indirect reading rods.
Select your needed unit of measure with the touch of button. The DR400 provides measurements in meters, decimal feet and fractional inches. Elevation measurements can be taken up to 20 feet. The tilt sensor ensures accuracy by automatically correcting to actual vertical distance. Simply place the distance meter spot on the location needed a grade check. Then pick up the rotating laser beam anywhere on the reception window. Distance from the ground to the rotating beam is measured and displayed.
The Spectra Precision® DR400 DigiRod functions as a laser receiver and works with any roational red beam laser. It is based upon the popular HL700 Laserometer. When used as a stand-alone distance meter, the DR400 gives contractors a one-person distance measuring and estimating tool for measuring remote and difficult-to-reach places.
Features & Benefits
As a DigiRod, the DR400 is an extremely portable, universal system eliminating the need to carry, transport and maintain multiple grade rod types. It also helps increase productivity by ensuring you always have the correct rod on-hand and by eliminating tool marks on screeded concrete.
The DR400 can help increases safety by reducing the need to lean over or go into excavations or trenches. The internal angle compensation system within the DR400 reduces errors and extra material costs due to tilted grade rods, resulting in increased accuracy.
The DR400 is easy to learn and use with a simple graphical display and bright backlight so fast readings are possible in even low light. As a DigiRod, the DR400 works with existing rotating lasers.
As a Rod-Mounted Digital Laserometer, the DR400 provides you with faster readings by displaying the exact numerical distance from grade on the Digital Readout of Elevation. This eliminates the need to move the receiver to get on-grade. An Anti-strobe sensor prevents construction strobe lights from setting of the receiver, eliminating phantom strikes and making it easier to identify true laser beam signals.
The Spectra Precision® DR400 DigiRod has a large 5-inch reception height so that the beam and reading can be acquired quickly as well as makes it easier to stay in beam. The elevation display is reinforced in low light with simultaneous elevation LEDs and bright backlight o ensure fast readings. A universal reversible clamp is provided for square and oval rods.
As a Handheld Laser Distance Meter, the DR400 can be used in multiple applications to help you increase productivity with using just one tool. Only one person is needed to make accurate readings in difficult-to-reach areas with the DR400, increasing safety. The DR400 also eliminates issues with sagging or mis-held tapes at different temperatures, increasing accuracy.
